"This Chic is crazy"

I know that’s what he’s thinking if not saying about me. He being HIM aka husband.

So I calls him up and I tells him:
Me: you need to go to either Circuit City or Best Buy and get software for my computer.
Him: *silence*
Me: you’ll need to get something for spyware and something else for that’s antivirus.
Him: *silence*
Me: You should be able to pick that up in your travels today.
Him: I’m not gonna have time to do that today.
Me: Why no?
Him: I’m still at work and I have appointments this afternoon and evening.
Me: Ok, so you can’t stop in between or after the last appointment?
Him: no
Me: I’m using your card!

Hang up. So knowing like I do, he’s shaking his head, like where the hell did I find her and more importantly, why did I marry her crazy ashe!

I’m gonna send him a text in 45 minutes that reads:

“I Luv U”

Peace, Blessings and Laughs

Venting

So HE, is really getting on my nerves. He pulls out my laptop last night:

Me: Whatcha doing?
Him: I need to use the laptop.
Me: what’s wrong with the desktop?
Him: it didn’t work for the sites I needed.
Me: what sites?
Him: yahoo e-mail
Me: *blank stare*

So he’s gonna use my laptop to open e-mails that might potentially f*ck up my computer. The very same computer he had a problem with my purchasing. Ok, I’ll be cool. So he gets in the bed and is doing whatever. Then next thing you know he’s calling someone, I’m like who da hell you calling this late. “My mother, she needed me to check something for her.” So why the heck you aint say that in the beginning. I know you’re thinking what does that matter. The problem is that he says one thing and does something totally different. You specifically said yahoo, and made no mention of any other sites. But here you are on the phone and visiting other sites.

We’ve had this discussion on countless occasions. I bought the laptop because I was tired of having to fight him to use the desktop. Oh yeah, cause I wanted to be lazy and lie in bed and do my homework. Then I still had to fight to get online to post my homework, so I got dsl. Now all he wants to do is use my laptop. Sure there’s a problem with accessing yahoo e-mails, but why don’t you look into resolving the desktop issues instead of creating new issues by using my laptop.

You’d think I was the only child. But on the contrary I’m the oldest of 2.5 and the only girl. And yeah I can be quite spoiled and selfish at times.

What happens if the laptop is compromised and is the subject of some hackers and viruses? Yeah I’m afraid of that stuff.

And I’m venting about this now, cause I just got off the phone with him and he’s at work. But you told me you had the day off, now all of a sudden you are at work. So the topic of me going to sleep on him last night comes up, and I’m like you said you were checking e-mail and next thing I know you on the phone doing who knows what. But I’m supposed to stay up with you? Whateva. And by the way if something happens to my laptop, you paying for the maintenance even if it includes you buying a whole new laptop.

Him: But how would you know if it were my using it that caused something to happen
Me: oh so now you want to break it down to the specifics, whateva
Him: whateva what?
Me: whateva
Him: what’s whateva
Me: this is a discussion for another time.

Yeah I know the answer to all of this is to either tell him to not use my laptop or purchase the software to protect it. So I’m now looking into software to purchase at his expense!

Another slow day

it looks like today will be another one of those long and leisurely days for me. No work on the horizon, so I'm cruising blogs all day. It's a good thing there's some quality blogs availabel for me to read. I'll probably reference a few in later posts.

At any rate, lunch time is what I'm waiting for. I have to walk to CVS to grab a card for a friend who's birthday is tomorrow. Yah, I'm late I know. I'll shoot her an e-card tonight for delivery tomorrow as well as send her a text.

Visiting

It’s been a minute since I last visited MA, my paternal grandmother. And I’m long over due to make a visit. My aunt from Cali is visiting this week, so this might be a good opportunity to make that visit. Hopefully she’ll be there when I get there so she and I can converse some. Not that I have much to talk about.

Ok, so enough beating around the bush. I found out on Father’s Day that my grandmother’s health is taking a turn for the worse. Without going in to great details, I’ll just so I need to come to terms with her transition and have a visit before circumstances get worse and I’ll feel even guiltier.

She’s been in the hospital for about a full year now. There have been a few diagnoses and now we must prepare for the worse. This is so hard for me. I’ve shied away from my father’s side of the family along time ago. And while every now and again I attend a gathering, it’s just not the same. And because of that, it’ll be that much harder for me when Ma’s transition does take place. Because I still feel the distance with those family members.

My guilt comes from living about 25 minutes from her, but rarely visiting. And then to make it even worse, my maternal grandmother lived 7 minutes from her and I visited the maternal grandmother more often. So add to that, her being in the hospital I’ve made all of 3 visits in a year’s time.

So how do you deal with visiting someone you know is on their death bed? I’m in tears as I type this, I just don’t handle passing well at all.

A part of me wants to remember the woman she use to be prior to going into the hospital and not the frail woman she’s become now. My last visit I didn’t want to wake her because she looked so peaceful in her sleep.

Where oh where is my summer fun?

The count day has begun. That’s right it’s 4 days til my birthday, and I finally decided what I’m gonna do. (Well kinda, I’m wishy, washy and will probably change my mind.) At any rate, I’m gonna head on over to the spa and get a massage, and/or body wrap and then have the feets worked on….yep I’m gonna try reflexology. And I can’t wait………this surely jumpstart my summer.

You see I believe how you start your summer is how your summer will end. In fact, I was reading my daily dose and I came across Beats, Rhymes & Life's spot, where he writes a letter to wanting some summertime fun. I’m so feeling the need to have fun filled summer as well. As mentions, his routine last summer mirroed that of my own where I go to work, go home and that’s it. Oh sure, hubby gets his party on at least twice a month, I'm usually in the house either reading a book or watching a movie. BUT NOT THIS SUMMER, I'm gonna party likes it's 1999.........LOL

So right here and now, I’m making a vow to live it up this summer. I’m gonna party, drink and have loads and loads of fun if it k.i.l.l.s me……..LOL

Here's to a fun filled summer!

Happy Tuesday!

Oh I how I love thee…….Direct Deposit

I started this job just a short time ago, and one of my first questions was concerning my first paycheck and it’s availability for direct deposit. There’s usually a delay because of the necessary paperwork involved and the different banking institutions. But “dd” usually takes affect within three pay periods. Luckily for me it didn’t take that long, my first check was “dd” and I was ecstatic. See, I despise going into banks. Don’t get me wrong, every now and again there’s a need to walk in and speak to someone. But for the most part, my preference is to bank online. So having direct deposit works best for me.

I like not having to wait inline to deposit my earnings. Not all tellers are nice and work efficiently. I’ve had my share of tellers experiencing bad days. And then if payday falls on the weekend, guess what my money is there usually that Friday; sometimes a day before the actual payday. Another plus to “dd” is worry free payday when on vacation. It never fails; a payday comes while we are on vacation. But it’s no concern for either of us since as long as there’s an atm and we have a card, we have access to our money. And banks love direct deposit as well, since they usually offer discounted banking accounts if you utilize “dd”.
I simply heart direct deposit.

How???

Please tell me how do you leave a child in the car unattended ?

I'm checking my reader, cause you know I don't have much work to do, so I'm always looking for interesting post from fellow bloggers..........anyhoo, I come across this very disturbing story. And since it's local I had to think about it. This really cause me to lean back in my chair and shake my head.

Now I'm not a parent, but I've had kids in my care that ride with me to run errands. My niece namely, cause I love spending time with her, so I usually drag her along with me. And I'll admit there have been a few times where she's fallen asleep and I get out of the car at my destination and I almost forgot she was there. But lucky for me, I've made a habit of checking my backseat before I leave the vicinity of my car regardless of where I am or who I'm with. It's just a habit. When I go to the gas station with her in the car, I roll the window down near her so I can talk to her while I pump gas.

But under NO circumstance can I see reason to leave my niece or any child for that matter in a car. There's no such thing as a quick run in and out of a store, so she can stay in the car. Cause yall don't know my niece, 8 and all she would have my car in a ditch some where cause she crawled into the driver's seat and attempted to act like auntie......

I am having such a hard time attempting to understand how a parent could leave ther child in the car. This disturbs me on so many levels. Every summer we hear case after case where a parent left a child in the car when it's hot as heck outside. Even if heat wasn't a factor, why would you leave a child in the car alone? And this poor child was only 14 months.

Time flies……

It’s just about 12:30, time has really flown by this morning. I’m scratching my head as to how, it’s not like I’ve been working. At any rate I’ve gone through my daily doses (blogs) and now I’m looking to add a few more.

Luch time is approaching, so I’m debating what I’ll have for lunch. I drove in so I really don’t want to spend any money. But I have to eat. Maybe I’ll go grab a slice of pizza. I’ll even take the long way to get in some exercise…….

Up coming BIRTHDAY

Yeah, my birthday is coming up……..hubby wants to plan the day for me, but I’m hesitant cause I don’t like surprises, and no telling what the heck he wants to do. I was thinking maybe I’d hit the spa for a massage, body wrap and then a reflexology session.

Weekend re-cap

I had a pretty uneventful weekend. I got some rest and relaxation. Here’s how it went down:
Friday after work I rushed to the metro to get my car to go to an HOA meeting, only to find that the meeting was Thursday not Friday. I had the days mixed up, I thought the 26 was Friday, yeah I look at a calendar damn near all day and it never dawned on me. I told you have my share of blonde moments.

Saturday got a wake up call from a girlfriend. We arranged to meet at the track for some exercise – walking. After that I had an acupuncture appointment and that went well. Then I just rode around, yeah I know crazy right. First I went to find this dress at Sears, no luck they didn’t have my size, I did however find a cute skirt. By the way I’m wearing it today………..Next up I wanted these flip flops from Kohl’s, but of course the store I went to didn’t have the size I needed. Then I found gas for 3.99 per gallon……so I pulled in and waiting the 20 minutes to get to a pump. I put in 33.26 and I only got ¾ tank of gas……..aint that some stuffing……..On to the beauty supply store to get this oil for my fro……but there were unexpected and unlucky stops at the Dress Barn and Famous Footwear. Last stop was the Safeway for some Sorbet and fruit bars. Home at last, where I relaxed, read blogs, and then popped in a movie see the last post.

Sunday: woke up early to call my grandmother to tell her I’d pick her up from church; Lifetime catches me every Sunday. This Sunday was ‘I Do” Sunday with wedding movies being shown throughout the day.

I got caught watching “Cake” which was about this young girl that takes a break from her traveling writing career to come home for a wedding. Her father has a heart attack the next night and she agrees to become the temporary editor for his wedding magazine. She loathes the institution of marriage and evident by the next release of the magazine, her first time editing. At any rate, she winds up falling for the company’s vice president, whom her father instructed to watch her every move. They wind up together in the end.

So I finally jump start my day and go pick my grandmother up, drop her off and then I head to the track. Now my mother is forewarning me that it’s too hot for walking the track. I brush that off, I have a goal and it’s to lose 15 pounds ASAP. I proceed to walk 5 laps in about 35 minutes and then I head on home for relaxation. But moms wants to head to Wal-mart and wants me to use my gas……..any way we hit the Walmart in Dunkirk and find some good stuff. I got two skirts, one shirt and a few household items to the sum of 65. Mother spends 125 and all I can remember is things for my step father’s bathroom for the winter……..
Lastly home again, where hubby is back and forth between the back porch grilling. I still have homework to complete and submit. Not too mention I need to wash, roll and dry my hair.

The Dinner Scene - Why Did I Get Married

OMG……the dinner scene was so dang on explosive……..imagine being at the dinner table with friends and then being told your so called friend is sleeping with your husband……..you find out your husband had a DNA test on your child because he wasn’t sure it’s his child………you husband finds out you had your tubes tied after your first child……….you find out your husband blames you for your child’s death in a car accident…………you find out your husband has VD.

I can’t imagine being in any of those situations. There’s no way I’d overlook my husband getting cozy with any woman right under my nose. No need for a DNA test, cause I’m reassuring him every chance I get that we are a family and he is needed. Being blamed for my child’s death wouldn’t have occurred either, as I’d have my own guilt to deal with. And lastly, my husband having VD, I wont even go there.

Why DID I get married???

It’s a stormy Saturday night. And GOD is working it out…..it’d thundering like crazy outside. I’m gonna sit still til it’s done and over with.

But let me pop a movie in…..what shall I watch??? I have an enormous amount of videos to select from, but I’ll stick to what’s here in this bedroom instead of having to go to the other room or downstairs.

Since we are having little marital spat, how about Why Did I get married. I really like this movie, Tyler did a good job. I saw the play and enjoyed that as well.

I won’t do a bit by bit of the movie, I’ll just note my opinion here and there through out.

In generally, I love the idea of couples getting together annually for a group vacation. We tried it once and had a good time. We did a cruise to Florida, Mexico and Belize. Anyway back to the movie……

First opinion, why did Diane (Sharon Leal) not listen to Terry (Tyler Perry) when he bought it to her attention that she’s not being a very attentive wife and parent. I think we owe it to each other to make time at the very least on a weekly basis. Now I understand that both of their professions require a great deal of time and attention but so does their marriage. And frankly what they did to get one another they need to do to keep one another. An excellent point was made that sometimes we hear, but don’t listen

Second opinion, I had a real problem with Mike (Richard Jones) not wanting to sit next to his wife Sheila (Jill Scott) on the plane. And then he had the nerve to snicker when the flight attendant informed Sheila that she’d have to get off the plane. His exact words, “What? I’ve been telling her big azz for months now to lose some weight.” If I could have paused the movie when it was in the theaters……..that was the first indication that some serious topics were going to be tackled in this movie.

Moving on………………….Marcus (Michael Jai White) and Angela (Tasha Smith)…..I loved these two……Angela was seriously a ball of fiya on the train, she handled those gentlemen and their dog…….and that’s all I can say, beside this was the first indication I was in for some laughs curtsey of Angela.

Patricia (Janet Jackson) and Gavin (Malik Yoba) appearances are something else. These two look like the perfect couple. But of course perfection often alludes to deeper issues as with Patricia and Gavin.

Ok, so for real the reason for putting the movie is because I’m wondering why people get married.

I’m the first to admit I went into marriage with a preconceived notion of nothing but pure happiness. And my first year of marriage was anything but that. Approaching my third year, things have smoothed out a little. But we still encounter bumps in the road. So I often find my self asking, why did I get married.

I wanted someone to love me in the good times and bad times, winter, spring, summer and fall. I wanted stability, so when an unexpected event occurred, there’s someone that has my back. I wanted someone to have children with, one or two, no pets. I wanted someone to grow old with…….did I get married for the wrong reasons???

Whatcha gonna do with it…..

I told a friend that I finally started my blog. And the questions began with what are you going to do with it. I wasn’t exactly ready for that question. Then the second round of questions included how do I get people to come to my page. Again silence from me.

Initially I just wanted an outlet to vent about various things. You know random thoughts when I don’t have anyone to share with or talk to. But then I got to thinking…….maybe I should tackle a few topics here and there. Subjects that wouldn’t necessarily require me to do much in depth research.

So then the begin the next stage of thinking, what topics/subjects to cover. I’ve seen various blogs dedicated to personal finance, fashion, hair celebrity to name a few. So instead of being trapped in a box by only blogging about one specific topic, I’m going to venture on various things. My project over the course of the next week or so will be to comprise a list of various things I’d like to blog about. I have a few ideas, but by comprising a list I can reference when I’m at a lost for what to blog about.

I’m off to start my list…………

A Song for me????

So here I am in the house on a Saturday evening not doing much. I’m in a Donny Hathaway: A Song for You, kinda mood, so I get on google to find a video to upload to my page and there are a few options.

First up is Ray Charles with Willie Nelson – loving the piano being played by Ray Charles, but I’m not really feeling the country vocals in the beginning, of course Ray Charles ends the song wonderfully, but what other options do I have

There’s another one with Ray Charles by himself…….

A live performance by Usher…….he does I decent job. The link is unavailable for embedding. Next……

Beyonce is next with a live performance as well. She does a cool performance of the song.

Whitney, oh my………could it be? Yep sure nuff, it’s the old Whitney singing the song I want to hear………but an error when I attempt to load the video.

Lastly, there’s Donny’s version. Error again.

So ends my search for uploading a video for A Song For You.

Book - Suze Orman Women & Money

Looks like those that missed out earleir this year to down load Suze Orman's Women & Money have another chance.

Learning

so I'm still unable to post pics, but I found another little sumtin, sumtin.........I know how to type a word and have that word, if clicked, direct to what I'm referencing.......someone reading this might think I'm really "special" and I'll be the first to admit I've had my share of blonde moments.

At any rate here are the
shoes I purchased earlier this week.

This is such a neat trick.

Weekend Plans…….

I don’t have much planned for the weekend. I’m gonna try being flexible and open should someone call.

Tonight I have an HOA meeting. I can see it now, I walk in there and they stop talking to say to me “this meeting is for owners” to which I’ll reply “I know, I read the sign just outside” and then they’d come back with “So, you’re an owner” to which my next response would be “My name is ________and I own ________. Would you like my driver’s license and social security numbers as well?” I can be such a smarty pants at times. But heck, some people deserve it.

Anyway, how’d I veer off subject just that quickly……….so hubby and I are going to rent a movie from Red Box, go to the movies or go grab a bite to eat. My mother insists that we try this place in Bowie called Texas Road House Grille. I looked them up online and the picture of the marquarita is what caught my eye. I like grown up beverages.

Now tomorrow is definitely a different story. I plan to hit the track (walking) about 9 am. Hopefully my wonderful mother will call and wake me up bright and early and I can get there by 8:30. Then I have an acupuncture appointment at 11. But after that I’m completely free. Originally I planned to go find a white outfit for Hubby’s family reunion shin-ding, but since he found something for me yesterday that’s off my list.

My father’s sister from Cali is coming in for the week. So maybe I will get the chance to see her. But she may want to spend her time with my grandmother, which is completely understandable.

And then Sunday, I planned to get my niece and we’d spend the day in the house watching movies. But who knows if that will work out.
Anyway, that’s what I have so far.
