Sad & Disappointed............

Well I did my part in attempting to get my niece. I called this morning but got no answer three different times. Her mother finally called me about an hour after my last attempted call, 3:30pm The agreement was that she'd drop my niece off at my house within an hour. So imagine my frustration at 4:30, no niece.......At 4:45 I called and she was still in house and her response was "Oh I was waiting for something to dry." She went onto to say she was about to leave the house, I told her never mind. She then asked if I wanted to come pick my niece up to which I responded naw, never mind. I told her she didn't respect my time and she wanted to know what I meant. A few more words were said, and then she raised her voice to say "I'm not gonna argue with you," my response "Don't" and I hung up.

So now I'm sitting home saddened that I won't see my niece this weekend.
Yeah I know my niece is the real victim in this, and I hate that she's caught up in the midst of mother's antics.

Back to the hieghts

I’m ecstatic, ABC Family’s popular show Lincoln Heights is back with for a third season. I think the show is a refreshing show about a modern day family and the issues they face. There’s a father who’s a cop, a mother who’s a nurse, two teenage daughters and a son.

Beginning September 16, every Tuesday night at 7 you can catch me front and center watching this show. Unfortunately we only get 10 episodes this season as opposed to the 13 episodes we had for season’s 1 and 2.

Brighter evening

My evening was brighten by a call from my niece.......I miss her so much I damn near cried.....I allowed her to talk and then I casually asked her a few questions here and there. I told her I saw my other niece today, and she was estatic. I asked her if she wanted to come with me this weekend and of course she was all for it. So I've arranged to pick her up Saturday morning and drop her off sometime Sunday. She'll attend the family gathering with me Sunday which is cool, since she hasn't met too many family members on my father's side.

I'm so happy......I'll rest easy and sleep well tonight knowing I'm seeing my niecey this weekend.

TV-One is running a Roc marathon......and I've been laying around watching.....I saw Samuel L. Jackson on one of the episodes. I wonder if the show is available on dvd or why it's not. I use to love this show.

This day seven years ago I was on bed rest. I had been in a bad accident a few months prior that required I wear a medical halo for three months. I can't readily recall exactly what I was doing, but I vaguely recall watching the news and seeing the replay of the airplanes going into the buildings in New York, and then news came that the pentagon had been hit.

As I attempt to remember those fatal events that took place this time seven years ago, I can't help but to become emotional. So many lives lost, leaving a nation to forever mourn.

I won't forget, we can't forget.

To those that lost family members and/or friends, my heart and prayers are with you as you try to move on and past that day.

A letter to Mary

Dear Mary (mortgage lady in Columbia, MD),

Yes, I’ve received all 12 of your letters sent to me requesting I give you a call. I understand fully what services you provide and that you “might” be able to lower the amount of mortgage I am currently paying. But have you stopped to think and/or considered that I DON’T want/need my payment lowered. Especially as your little note so eloquently states what you ‘might” be able to do. Currently, I don’t feel the need to have you do a hard credit check on me based on possibility of lowering my mortgage. Now when you can guarantee something maybe, just maybe I’ll give you that call. But in the mean time, I respectfully request you stop sending me those dang on letters.

Kindest Regards,
CryThenLive

I've opted out of those promotional mailings too many times to count. But still I receive these letters and offerings........what was the point in my opting out if I'm still gonna receive the dang on things?

Dream house

I've been quietly house hunting for sometime now. Naw, I'm not moving anytime soon, or so says Mister. But a girl can wish right. So to keep in tune to what I want and can afford, I've been perusing a few real estate sights. I've set up accounts and saved a few places as favorites. Here is where I am now:

Our next move will be to something like this:

A townhouse is a better bet for us at the moment. Something with more storage space and an additional bedroom and bathroom. Most of the townhome communities have high HOA fees, we already pay a condo fee. So for more space we'd fork over a HOA, but hopefully we find someplace with more space and a lower HOA fee.

If the right single family house was available, we wouldn't pass up on that. Something along the lines of these:

But my dream house is a combination of these:

I want land........yep, I'll need at least 5 bedrooms and three bathrooms. A nice eat in kitchen with a formal dining room and a family room as well as a living room. And what's a big ole house without at least one fireplace right. And the master SUITE must have a bathroom with his and her sinks and a separate jacuzzi and shower.

A New BFF....seriously?

So I'm watching Making the Band on emptyTV, I mean MTV and a commerical comes on with Paris Hilton in a lounge chair saying something, then it cuts to bickering amongst some other chics, then cuts back to Paris, another shot of Paris saying something, then she says something to the effect of 18 applying, but only one can be her new BFF......WTF?

Really MTV is giving her a reality show in search of a new BFF?

Disgusted then cool.....

I've been emailing back anf forth with a few gal pals. It's the norm fo us. But one of them forwarded a link to this video of these two little girls cussing up a storm. Now I couldn't get thru the entire video truth be told, I stopped after 10 secs........I'm so saddened, mad, angry and DIS.freaking.GUSTED by the video. I'm almost in tears at the fact that a grown azz woman thought it would be a cute idea to video these cute little girls cursing and carrying on as if they were adults.........when is that cool. Let me get this straight, you think it's ok for your 5-9 year daughter, niece or young cousin to use such language? They can barely even pronounce the words correctly......hands on their unformed hips? Get the freak outta here. That is not cool. And when the freak are we gonna realize that we need to be accountable for the actions of our youth. Everything these damn kids do out in the streets, guess what their little azzes probably got it from home, yep their parents. And if their parents aren't the source, I still blame them for not correcting that crap. If that was my niece I'd...........ok, I'm calm

Come on people, how can your daughter respect others if her own mother/aunt/older female relative think it's cute for them to act like some common little hoodrat, with a mouth as fowl as a 10 year navy veteran.

I'm done ranting because thanks to another friend of that came group of gal pals. She forwarded a video link or two links shall I say that have calmed the beast I became when I saw that damn video.

Here are the videos:

and then she sent this one:

Tuesday chuckle.....

Because I don't have anything else to post here's a joke a friend sent:

The Truth About Married Life .....

Three women friends, one in a casual relationship, one engaged to be married and one a long-time wife, met for drinks after work. The
conversation eventually drifted towards how best to spice up their sex lives. After much discussion, they decided to surprise their men by engaging in some S&M role playing.

The following week they met up again to compare notes. Sipping her drink, the single girl leered and said, 'Last Friday at the end of the work day I went to my boyfriend's office wearing a leather coat. When all the other people had left, I slipped out of it and all I had on was a leather bodice, black stockings and stiletto heels. He was so aroused that we made mad passionate love on his desk right then and there!’

The engaged woman giggled and said, 'That's pretty much my story! When my fiancĂ© got home last Friday, he found me waiting for him in a black mask, leather bodice, black hose and stiletto pumps. He was so turned on that we not only made love all night, he wants to move up our wedding date!’

The married woman put her glass down and said, 'I did a lot of planning. I made arrangements for the kids to stay over at Grandma's. I took a long scented-oil bath and then put on my best perfume. I slipped into a tight leather bodice, a black garter belt, black stockings and six-inch stilettos. I finished it off with a black mask, ready for action. When my husband got home from work, he grabbed a beer and the remote, sat down and yelled,' Hey, Batman, what's for dinner?'

What’s been up & weekend re-cap

I haven’t been much in the mood to post the past few days or so. The end of last week I was caught up in a funk. And I couldn’t find the inspiration to post anything.

My weekend was cool. I didn’t do much. Friday I did a list of tasks I wanted to complete over the weekend. And of course not much on that list was accomplished. I did take my book back to the library and I did iron one outfit to wear, which I’m wearing now. Other than those two items, I did nadda.

Saturday hubby was up early, and I couldn’t go back to sleep so I was forced to begin my day. I grab the sale ads for this week, my lap top and got back into bed. Hubby was back sooner than I expected so I started cleaning the kitchen counter and got rid of some unwanted and old papers. I finally left he house about 3 to drop some items off at the Salvation Army and make my run to Costco. I was back home by 6:30 pm.

Sunday was another day of lounging until my meeting with cousins and aunt for the family gathering. After that I returned home to prepare for the week.

Hope you had a better weekend.
