Ok, so I’m minding my own business running my errands. Well I pull into the parking lot of the grocery store and before I can even put the car in park, this little girl is at my window trying to get me to purchase some items. Unfortunate for her I was on the phone so I didn’t bother to even respond.
And then I get to the entrance to the store, and this young guy approaches me and asks for my help. My immediate response is, “Sorry I don’t have anything on me.” He’s like, “oh now I don’t need any money. I live in _______ and I left my ID at home, I was wondering if you could purchase a 30 pack of beer and I’d give you three dollars.” I shook my head and walked away. To which he responded, “you could have at least said no.” I’m thinking to myself, self (yeah I go thru this sometimes, it helps me to rationalize things), I say “self, do I really look like I need three dollars? Do I look like I’d jump at the chance to get three dollars from anyone?”
I then go on to think, he must really don’t have it all, why would an adult jeopardize their livelihood by walking into a store and purchasing him alcohol.
Note to self…..I really need to step up my appearance game if people on the street are offering to pay ME to run an errand for them.
Peace out, and enjoy the rest of the evening, I'm off to the movies to see the Incredible Hulk.
